How Often Should I Clean My Rug?

A good rule of thumb is to get your rug cleaned every 6-12 months (depending on traffic, pets, and style of rug) as to avoid any permanent damage. Many times, clients wait until they visually see a rug dirty before they decide to get it cleaned. Even if a rug doesn’t look dirty, you should have it professionally cleaned. Vacuuming removes most top soils from the rug's surface but cannot reach the bottom. Millions of microscopic dust particles, soil, and bacteria settle at the bottom of the rug, which then starts causing damage from within. Think of it as sand between your fingers. It acts as sandpaper rubbing and grinding away at the fibers' base. You can always email us with pictures of your rug so we can quickly identify it as handmade, machine-made, or synthetic.  This will help you further understand what your rug needs are and what we can do to give it the proper cleaning.

I used VAN’s twice this year. First for my area rug and then for my two living room chairs. As usual service was great and results terrific. I would highly recommend.
